Offcampuz Terms of Service

Effective date: 14 July 2026 · Last updated: 14 July 2026

Welcome to Offcampuz. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding contract between you and Offcampuz ("Offcampuz," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your access to and use of the Offcampuz mobile applications, websites, and related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is currently offered in India.

Please read these Terms carefully. They include important provisions that affect your legal rights, including:

By creating an account, or by accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who we are and what Offcampuz is

Offcampuz is a community platform for verified members of college and university communities. Within their community, users can post discussions, polls, comments, reactions, events, and community experiences, and may use messaging and other features we add over time. Users may post anonymously to other users — meaning your display identity is hidden from other members — subject to Section 7.

2. Eligibility and verified college identity

To use the Service, you must:

You agree that all information you provide for verification is accurate and that you will keep it current. We may refuse, suspend, or revoke verification at our discretion if we believe it is inaccurate, fraudulent, or misused.

3. Your account

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. You agree to:

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, except to the extent caused by our breach of these Terms or by unauthorized access not resulting from your failure to safeguard your credentials. We may reclaim usernames and may require you to change credentials for security reasons.

4. License to use the Service

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own non-commercial use. This license ends when your access to the Service ends. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

5. Your content and the license you give us

You own your content. "User Content" means anything you create, post, upload, or share through the Service — text, images, polls, comments, reactions, event details, and the like. As between you and Offcampuz, you retain whatever ownership rights you have in your User Content.

License to Offcampuz. To operate, improve, and promote the Service, you grant Offcampuz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to host, store, cache, reproduce, adapt, modify (e.g., reformat for display), publish, publicly perform and display, distribute, and create derivative works of your User Content, in any media now known or later developed. This license exists only so that we can run, secure, moderate, and develop the Service (including for safety, backup, and analytics) and to promote the Service. The license is non-exclusive, so you remain free to use and license your own content elsewhere.

Duration. This license continues for as long as your User Content is on the Service and for a commercially reasonable period afterward, because content may persist in backups, in others' interactions (for example, where another user has quoted or saved it), and where required for legal, safety, or security purposes. Content that has been shared with or copied by others may remain visible to them.

Feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, you grant us an unrestricted, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use it without any obligation to you.

Your responsibility and warranty. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content and to grant the license above, and that your User Content does not violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or any law or third-party right (including privacy, publicity, and intellectual-property rights).

6. Our content and trademarks

The Service itself — including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the "Offcampuz" name and marks — is owned by Offcampuz or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for User Content, nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership to you. You may not use our name, logos, or branding without our prior written permission.

7. Anonymous posting — important disclosures

Offcampuz lets you post anonymously to other users. This means your username or identity is hidden from other members when you choose to post anonymously.

Anonymous does not mean untraceable. Anonymity on Offcampuz is a feature for the community-facing experience only. It is not a guarantee of untraceability, and you should not treat it as one.

Offcampuz may retain account, device, network, and activity information for safety, security, fraud prevention, moderation, legal compliance, and law enforcement requests. This includes information such as your account records, device and app identifiers, IP and network data, and logs of activity associated with anonymous posts. We may preserve, access, review, and disclose this information, and link anonymous content to an account, where we believe it is reasonably necessary to: operate and secure the Service; investigate and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of these Terms; protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or Offcampuz; or comply with the law or a valid legal request. See the Privacy Policy and Law Enforcement Request Policy.

Posting anonymously does not exempt you from these Terms or the Community Guidelines, and it is not a shield for harassment, threats, doxxing, or illegal conduct.

8. Rules of conduct (Acceptable Use)

You agree to follow our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms. Without limiting them, you agree not to use the Service to:

We may investigate and take action on suspected violations as described in Section 12 and in our Content & Moderation Policy.

9. Reporting and safety

You can report content or behavior through in-app reporting tools or by contacting support@offcampuz.com. We encourage you to use them. In an emergency or if someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services (for example, 112 in India). Our Safety Center explains the tools available to you.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use, share, and retain it. By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described there.

11. Third-party services and links

The Service may link to or integrate third-party content, websites, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for them, and your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

12. Suspension, restriction, removal, and termination

Our discretion. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we may, at our sole discretion and with or without notice, remove or restrict content, limit or suspend features or access, and suspend or terminate accounts — including for actual or suspected violations of these Terms, the Community Guidelines, or the law; for risks to safety or security; for legal or regulatory reasons; or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users, the public, third parties, or Offcampuz. Where it does not compromise safety, security, an investigation, or legal obligations, we aim to act proportionately and to give notice and an explanation consistent with our Content & Moderation Policy.

Appeals. Many enforcement decisions can be appealed as described in the Content & Moderation Policy, and you may also use the grievance-redress mechanism in Section 18.

Your right to stop. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Certain information may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy and Section 7.

Effect of termination. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 5 (license, to the extent content persists), 6, 7, 13–17, and 19.

13. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Offcampuz and its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors (the "Offcampuz Parties"), from and against any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your User Content; (b) your use or misuse of the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms or any law or third-party right; or (d) your violation of another person's rights. We may assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, and you agree to cooperate; you will not settle any matter affecting the Offcampuz Parties without our prior written consent.

14. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OFFCAMPUZ PARTIES DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICE OR ITS SERVERS ARE FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. WE DO NOT CONTROL AND ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR USER CONTENT, AND WE DO NOT ENDORSE ANY OPINION EXPRESSED BY USERS. YOU INTERACT WITH OTHER USERS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Our moderation systems are not perfect and we do not guarantee that all violating content will be detected or removed, or that non-violating content will never be removed.

To the extent any warranty cannot be excluded under applicable law, it is limited to the minimum extent permitted.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

(a) THE OFFCAMPUZ PARTIES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, AND EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

(b) IN PARTICULAR, THE OFFCAMPUZ PARTIES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY HARM ARISING FROM USER CONTENT OR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER OR THIRD PARTY, INCLUDING HARASSMENT, DEFAMATION, OR OFFENSIVE OR ILLEGAL CONDUCT.

(c) THE OFFCAMPUZ PARTIES' TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (i) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (ii) INR 10,000.

NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED OR EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW (FOR EXAMPLE, FOR FRAUD, OR FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY OUR NEGLIGENCE, WHERE LAW SO REQUIRES), AND NOTHING AFFECTS ANY NON-WAIVABLE STATUTORY RIGHTS YOU HAVE AS A CONSUMER.

16. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice (for example, in-app or by email) and update the "Last updated" date. Changes are effective when posted unless we say otherwise. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 18, the courts at New Delhi, India will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you have under Indian consumer-protection law.

18. Grievance redress

We provide a grievance-redress mechanism in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made thereunder. If you have a complaint about content, conduct, or these Terms, you may contact our Grievance Officer:
