Offcampuz Content & Moderation Policy
Effective date: 14 July 2026 · Last updated: 14 July 2026
This Policy explains how Offcampuz reviews content, enforces our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, and handles strikes, repeat offenders, and appeals. It applies to all content and conduct on the Service, including anonymous content.
1. Our approach
We want Offcampuz to be safe and authentic. We use a combination of automated moderation (such as filters, classifiers, and detection systems) and human review to identify and act on content and behavior that violate our rules. Automated systems help us act quickly and at scale; human reviewers handle nuanced cases, escalations, and appeals.
No moderation system is perfect. We may not catch everything, and we may occasionally act on content that turns out not to violate our rules. We continuously improve our systems and offer appeals for that reason.
2. Anonymous content is still moderated
Posting anonymously to other users does not place content beyond moderation. We can review anonymous content, act on it, and — because anonymous does not mean untraceable — associate it with the responsible account. Offcampuz may retain account, device, network, and activity information for safety, security, fraud prevention, moderation, legal compliance, and law enforcement requests, and may use that information in investigations and enforcement.
3. What we may do (enforcement actions)
To the fullest extent permitted by law and at our discretion, we may take any of the following actions, alone or in combination, with or without prior notice:
- Content-level: remove, restrict, hide, age-gate, label, or reduce the distribution/reach of content; lock comments or polls.
- Feature-level: temporarily or permanently limit features (for example, posting, commenting, messaging, or anonymous posting).
- Account-level: issue warnings, apply temporary suspensions, or permanently terminate accounts.
- Safety escalations: preserve evidence, escalate to our safety team, and, where appropriate, report to law enforcement or other authorities.
We aim to make enforcement proportionate to the severity, context, and history of the violation. Some violations — including child sexual abuse material, credible threats of violence, and certain illegal content — result in immediate removal and may result in immediate account termination and reporting to authorities, regardless of strike history.
4. Strike system
For most violations, we use a strike-based model so enforcement is consistent and escalating:
| Tier | Typical conduct | Typical action |
|---|---|---|
| Warning | First, minor violation | Notice + content removal; education on the rule |
| Strike 1 | Clear violation | Content removal + short feature limit (e.g., 24–72 hours) |
| Strike 2 | Repeat or more serious violation | Longer suspension (e.g., 7 days) + feature limits |
| Strike 3 | Continued violations | Extended suspension or permanent termination |
| Severe / zero-tolerance | CSAM, credible threats, doxxing campaigns, sextortion, serious illegal activity | Immediate removal + likely permanent termination + reporting where required |
Strikes generally expire after a defined period of good standing (for example, 12 months). The exact thresholds, durations, and weightings are set internally and may change; this table is illustrative, not a contractual guarantee.
5. Repeat offenders and evasion
Accounts that repeatedly violate our rules will face escalating action up to permanent termination. We also act against ban evasion — creating new accounts, or using anonymity or multiple accounts, to get around enforcement. Evasion can itself result in termination of all related accounts. For copyright specifically, we terminate repeat infringers as described in our Copyright Policy.
6. Notice and reporting
- Anyone can report content or behavior using in-app tools or
support@offcampuz.com. - We prioritize reports by potential for harm (for example, threats, self-harm, and minor-safety reports are handled with urgency).
- Where required by law, we provide acknowledgment of reports and act within applicable legal timelines (see Section 9).
7. Notice to affected users (statements of reasons)
When we take action on your content or account, we will generally tell you what action we took and the general reason (for example, which rule was violated), unless doing so is restricted by law, would compromise an investigation or the safety or security of others, or where the violation involves spam, automation, or certain illegal content. Where the law requires a formal statement of reasons, we provide one.
8. Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal:
- Use the in-app appeal option associated with the enforcement notice, or contact
support@offcampuz.comwithin 30 days. - A reviewer who was not solely responsible for the original automated decision will review your appeal, including human review where the original action was taken by automated means and the law requires it.
- We'll tell you the outcome. If we reversed the action, we'll restore the content or access where feasible.
Appeals are available for most actions, but may be unavailable or limited for severe violations (such as CSAM), legal removals, or where otherwise restricted by law. Internal appeal does not limit any legal rights you have, including grievance redress under the IT Rules, 2021 and, where applicable, appeal to a Grievance Appellate Committee.
9. Legal timelines and special categories
We handle certain content under specific legal frameworks and timelines, including:
- Copyright: under our Copyright Policy.
- India (IT Rules, 2021): acknowledgment of grievances within 24 hours and resolution within 15 days; expedited handling (within 24 hours) for complaints about content that is non-consensual sexual imagery, impersonation, or morphed images; and removal/disabling of access within 36 hours of a valid government or court order. Our Grievance Officer is listed in the Terms of Service.
- Child safety: immediate removal and reporting to the appropriate authorities as required by law (including under the POCSO Act and the IT Act).
10. Transparency
We may publish periodic transparency information about the volume and types of enforcement actions, legal requests, and appeals, to the extent we choose or are required to.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy as our systems, the community, and the law evolve. Material changes will be communicated as described in the Terms of Service.
